Members of the performing company ages 8 through adults tours the city of Birmingham and the surrounding area entertaining, educating and recruiting people of all races to join our journey as we learn and teach the history of West African and African American folklore dance and drumming. .
Nathifa Dance Company & Outreach, Inc. was established in 1992. Our vision is to have a vibrant multi-cultural community rich in heritage; forming a positive self-image, self-pride, spiritual growth, and cultural awareness through dance as they both tell the story of Africans and African Americans people's journey of life.
Our mission & the Assignment-Nathifa Dance Company & Outreach, Inc. mission and our assignment is to educate, entertain and developing the gift of the arts focusing on increasing speed motor and coordination skills through African dance and drum rhythm.
Agency Background-(Nah-thee-fa) Nathifa Dance Company was established 1992 by Artistic Director LaVondia Gail Bryant-Square a native of Birmingham, Al raised in Brooklyn New York. She moved to back to Birmingham in 1986. While living here she discovered the lack of divert culture and cultural dance. (MORE)

This class educates students of all ages on the traditional dances from West Africa, Guinea, Mali and the Ivory Coast. The perfect way to exercise and tone the body while learning African dance as we prefect the heritage of cultural folklore stories to live drums. Dances are taught to the Djembe and Dununba drums.
These workshops and classes help students to strengthen or develop their technique in modern dance, jazz and African dance for spiritual worship. Good for personal use or for a church dance ministry team. Students are taught basic African dance as it relates to the passing of generational praise and worship.
